Description of what effects the edits/changes had on the original story/plot (opinion)

The name and music changes didn't change the story or plot, but they can change the enjoyment of the title for the viewers. The impact of the alteration/removal of the shower scene depends on the viewer.

 Detailed description of video edits

Street Fighter 2: There were two VHS releases, a dub-only edited version that removed Chun Li's shower scene and a dub-only version that contained part of the shower scene, but not the whole scene (the original had much more fan-service). The DVD had the shortened shower scene and only contained the English dub.

Street Fighter Alpha: The logo was changed in the opening.

Detailed description of English subtitle changes

Street Fighter 2: No subtitle version was released.

Street Fighter Alpha: The names that were changed in the dub were also changed in the subs.

Detailed description of English dub changes

Street Fighter 2: In addition to the name changes mentioned below, the English dub replaced all the original j-pop music with MTV style music.

Street Fighter Alpha: Street Fighter Alpha used the same names that were changed for Street Fighter 2.

Detailed description of name and title changes

Street Fighter 2: The English dub used the names used in the Capcom American games. "Vega"(the general) is called M. Bison, "M. Bison"(the boxer) is called Balrog, and "Balrog" (guy with the claw) is called Vega.

Street Fighter Alpha: Street Fighter Alpha used the same names that were changed for Street Fighter 2.
