The VHS dub tape and original DVD are missing the end of the credits which feature a zoom out that shows the entire Tomobiki area. The "Collector's Edition" DVD restores the orignal ending. DETAILED REPORT |

Description
of what effects the edits/changes had on the original story/plot (opinion)
Little effect on the overall story and plot, but it would have been nice to have the complete ending even if only as an extra on the tape/disc. Since the movie dealt with the whole of Tomobiki, the final shot of Tomobiki was a fitting ending to this movie. Note: The "Collector's Edition" DVD released in June 2004 restores the original ending to the movie. |

Detailed
description of opening and ending changes
| In the original ending, the camera zoomed back during the ending credits showing Tomobiki High gradually getting smaller and eventually showing the entire town/ward of Tomobiki where the story took place. On CPM's VHS dub and their DVD, the ending was cut after only zooming back to show the front of the school and then the English credits were shown over a black background. A school bell heard at the very end was also removed from the audio. |
