NEW EDITING REPORT: G Gundam
As I reported in February and now confirmed HERE on Anime on DVD, Bandai is changing the names in the English dub of G Gundam for both the TV broadcast and the DVD release. Read the editing report HERE or find it in the 'Full List' link.

NEW EDITING REPORT: Metropolis As feared when the still picture after the credits was missing from most (if not all) of the theatrical prints, Columbia/Tristar's North American DVD release of Metropolis is missing the still picture that appeared after the credits in the Japanese release. Read the editing report HERE or find it in the 'Full List' link.

UPDATED EDITING REPORT: Vandread
Thanks to information from a site reader, I've updated the editing report for Vandread. In addition to the song change previously reported, Pioneer used an overlay in at least one place. If you know of others, please let me know. Read the updated editing report HERE or find it in the 'Full List' link.

CHILD PORN LAW STRUCK DOWN This news has been making the rounds at various anime sites (AnimeonDVD.com for one) recently. It appears that the Supreme Court has thrown out part of a federal Child Pornography law as being unconstitutional. This is the same law that has been quoted as a reason some anime titles have been edited (La Blue Girl and Kite, just to name two). A news report can be found HERE.

It's uncertain how this will affects previously edited titles or future titles, but it is a step in the right direction IMHO. I will be talking to various company reps about this as time permits, and will share any news here.

NEW EDITING REPORT: Martian Successor Nadesico I meant to do this one a while back, but never had the chance. ADV used a lot of overlays in their release of Martian Successor Nadesico. Read the editing report HERE or find it in the 'Full List' link.

HEAD'S UP: Lupin Movies from Funimation
For some reason, Funimation is releasing an EDITED and UNEDITED version of at least their first two Lupin movies ("Secret of the Twilight Gemini" and "Harimao's Treasure"). Considering these aren't really kid's films no matter how you chop them up, I have to wonder why they're wasting their time and money on doing this. I don't have any details on what they're editing from them, but if you're planning on buying these Lupin movies, make sure you buy the UNEDITED version.

UPDATED EDITING REPORT: Here is Greenwood
Thanks to information reported to me from Dmitri Olenin, I've updated the Here is Greenwood editing report. Apparently even the English subtitled VHS tapes were edited to remove part of a scene where a character is groped. This is probably the same edit that was made in the English dubbed tape (unfortunately, I've never seen any version of this show firsthand to confirm the details). Since several vague reports have indicated that the dubbed VHS tape had edits that the subbed VHS tape didn't, there could be more edits in this title or possibly multiple versions of the tapes were released, some with edits and some without (like La Blue Girl). Read the updated editing report HERE or find it in the 'Full List' link. Thanks for the info, Dmitri.
